Role Description:
The Vice President of Marketing & Communications is a voting board member responsible for building the PMI Malta Chapter’s brand presence, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and delivering timely, consistent, and inclusive messaging across all communication and marketing channels. This role supports chapter growth, event promotion, member acquisition, sponsor visibility, and public outreach in alignment with PMI global standards and the chapter’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with the chapter’s mission, objectives, and PMI global messaging – including brand, social media, email, events, and advertising.
- Create and execute a multi-channel content calendar that ensures timely, relevant, and engaging communication with members, volunteers, sponsors, and the broader professional community.
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials, including the website, presentations, newsletters, social media, and promotional assets – following PMI’s brand guidelines.
- Coordinate communication plans for chapter initiatives and events, including email campaigns, social posts, event announcements, and post-event wrap-ups, in collaboration with other board members.
- Monitor and optimize communication effectiveness by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), social media insights, and member feedback to refine messaging and outreach tactics.
- Support sponsorship and outreach activities by developing branded materials and promoting chapter visibility among potential partners, academic institutions, and the broader Maltese business community.
- Manage relationships with vendors and partners involved in the creation of marketing or branded materials, ensuring cost-effective execution aligned with chapter quality standards.
- Oversee chapter communications governance, including crisis communications, data privacy considerations, and alignment with PMI policies and the chapter’s bylaws.
- Collaborate closely with board members and Directors to ensure consistent and unified messaging across all chapter operations.
- Lead the development of a succession plan for the role, including onboarding materials, documentation of key processes, and mentoring potential future marketing and communications leaders.

- Strategic Brand & Messaging Development – Ability to craft and maintain a cohesive brand presence across channels that reflects the chapter’s vision and aligns with PMI’s global identity.
- Content Creation & Campaign Management – Skilled in creating and executing engaging communication and marketing campaigns using a variety of media (email, social, web, print).
- Digital Marketing & Analytics – Understanding of social media management, email platforms, web content tools, and data-driven decision-making using marketing KPIs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Ability to coordinate effectively with board members, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to deliver consistent, aligned, and timely messaging.
- Project & Vendor Management – Capable of managing timelines, coordinating outsourced design or printing services, and delivering high-quality, branded outputs within budget.
